Scattered Pictures is a deeply personal new album from Adam Glaser inspired by his return to Long Island, the acceptance of his parents’ passing and the rekindled affection for this special place which has become his home once again.  Along with three original compositions, the album features beloved classics from Rodgers & Hammerstein, the Beatles, Joni Mitchell, the Carpenters, Marvin Hamlisch, Barry Manilow, the Bee Gees, Billy Joel, Neil Diamond, the Police, the Pat Metheny Group, Bob Dylan and Green Day.  Fueled primarily by solo piano improvisations, Adam reimagines these songs in an intimate, meditative setting reflecting an emotional, introspective journey through grief, melancholy, nostalgia, joy and hope.

Excursions is a collection of 15 original instrumentals spanning a variety of contemporary jazz styles. While his debut album, Wide Awake, featured Glaser leading an acoustic trio from the piano, for this second release he takes a step inward, exploring the limits and liberties of solo production. All 15 tracks are composed, performed, programmed and recorded entirely by Glaser using virtual instruments. The result is an eclectic mix of colorful songs that bounce from R&B and funk to jazz-pop and synth-driven electronica, all nestled in the fusion idiom.

“Excursions is a magical second outing by the very gifted Glaser. The contrasting compositions are all characterized by Glaser’s rhapsodic energy that elevates the music. The combination of performed, programmed, and recorded sounds communicate with each other joyously to form a complete package. Excursions will cement Glaser’s place on the international jazz map with his panache of deep musical understanding, wide-ranging styles, and skills as a performer.” - Sylvannia Garutch — The Jazz Word

“Moving inward this time out, Glaser kicks out the band and goes Rundgren on us as he hits the keys and does all the background programming. ...A generously stacked set of originals, this cat has it going on.” - Chris Spector — Midwest Record

“Pianist Adam Glaser’s debut album “Wide Awake” is a pleasant and delightful set of crisp trio jazz….Glaser plays with an expressive, lyrical touch that emphasizes technique, phrasing and creativity. ”

— Joe Ross, Roots Music Report

“Mr. Glaser brings with him a glistening pianism that is lithe and elegant as well as warm and swinging. He also displays – with the supple muscularity of both hands – a unique piano voice invoked by the tantalising asymmetry of his lines, which often set off in all manner of wrong-footed directions and unexpected turnarounds, but always land exactly right, with their own fascinating rhythm.”

— Jazz da Gama
